No. 7 Subs

Since the rumors of the Ace Hotel began to fly, I have been left with this very special feeling inside.
Then upon hearing of the Breslin as it was being dreamed and schemed I leapt with joy to hear it was not only started by the same owners as my favorite Spotted Pig but also seems to be my perfect happy restaurant designed for me...  Soon after I heard of this fabulous, drool worthy sandwich shop opened right below the Ace as well.

I have no good excuse for not popping in yet.. but I think I may need to reserve a day to savor the sandwich and utilize the Ace Hotel's fabulous free Wifi laden lounge. Yes, yes I will.
and one day.. some day I will make a reservation at the Breslin and dine to my hearts content!

The End of an Era

For all of you Tea Aficionados,
Take notice!
The legendary Takashimaya Tea Box is closing! Only open for two more days, get a delectable, creative bento box while you can and delight in a Japanese style high tea.
Shed a tear or two for me and know the loss of the glorious space, will be felt.

Fish Tacos and Chilaquiles

Obsesion... I have been obsessing over the beach lately and Far Rockaway in particular.
I have developed a highly detailed fantasy of owning a bungalow on this ghetto fabulous stretch of coast line. And NOW I find out about Rockaway Taco! Pretty sure I will fit right in.. And they have Chilaquiles!
Feels like home already.

Poets Day

"Piss Off Early Tomorrow is Saturday"

These fine fellas have revealed a brand of life I am lusting over.
They've opened an urban surf shop/coffee joint called Saturdays in Soho.
It is gathering a brilliant collaboration of  New York City Surfers,
artists and neighbors that love their home here.
I stumbled upon their blog and fell in LOVE.
I grew up in Santa Barbara California on the beach, my dad has been surfing since he could walk and I've been submersed in ocean beach life since inception.
It is a dream of mine to finally figure out how to combine my California and my New York lives as one.
I cannot wait to sip coffee and talk surf at Saturdays and then plan a surf trip for Far Rockaway!
You in?
Enjoy the weekend and check out Saturdays!

Celebration

Every year, the day after thanksgiving is celebrated by going to the Chip Shop in Brooklyn with a bunch of friends to commemorate another year of Sue's life thriving in New York City. I look forward to this holiday all year long and today feels like it'd be a great day for it. This rain and gloom would be matched perfectly by a Belhaven Wee heavy, the best chicken strips and a fried snickers bar. Who wants to pretend it's the day after Thanksgiving?

Tea for two and two for tea.

This weekend two blocks in Chelsea planned a neighborhood wide stoop sale.
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Had such a lovely time meeting the people who lived there and purchasing lovely tea time items.. Now I am dying for a sweet tea time to celebrate my purchases!

Pairing the drink with the film

My ideal way to relax is to make myself a fabulous meal and sit down with a paired drink to enjoy a choice film. My roommate knows this about me and was welcomed in her suggestion of this article. I too suggest a good read and a glorious suggestion!
