Africana

In the spirit of Africa, I present to you Oroma Elewa, the editor and creator of Pop'Africana magazine

A magazine dedicated to delivering a rejuvenated image of Africa and Africans in the Diaspora and a robust and educative guide documenting the endeavors and achievements of Africans, home and abroad.

Her unique style and perspective on fashion inspire and stir me with anticipation of the African fashionables I'll meet in Nairobi and Cape Town.

Africa

The news is out:
I AM GOING TO AFRICA!
As you can imagine, I am quite excited about this excursion. This trip is a long time coming and greatly anticipated. I will be visiting Burundi with a good friend returning to the orphanage she grew up in, partnering with Could You? in Mozambique and then off to Cape Town, South Africa to visit with friends and check out the amazing organizations they are involved with there.
It is coming up so soon and there is still soooo much to do.. like buy a ticket!
Stay tuned!

Fish Tacos and Chilaquiles

Obsesion... I have been obsessing over the beach lately and Far Rockaway in particular.
I have developed a highly detailed fantasy of owning a bungalow on this ghetto fabulous stretch of coast line. And NOW I find out about Rockaway Taco! Pretty sure I will fit right in.. And they have Chilaquiles!
Feels like home already.

Somebody MARRY This Man!

How adorable is my friend Alex with baby Carter?

Rose Cut Diamonds

I am not a girl that demands diamonds.
However, these rose cut diamonds make me weak in the knees.

Sunshiny Day

The Sun has most generously graced me with her presence today; inside and out. Weather forecasters are proclaiming a 90 degree afternoon. To celebrate the spring and the soon coming summer I thought I'd share with you a blog by Sarah, a Brooklyn Florist who also sells lovely smelling soaps through her flower business. Her blog Saipua is a gorgeous vision of her life and business that is always covered in seasonal flowers. Enjoy.
